Explained

Phase 1 -
The Gorge

Eat as much fatty food as your heart desires and then eat some more. Stuffing yourself to the gills (with fatty foods not sugars) is an essential start to the dietary programme. The reason for the gorge is that a high lipid (fat) blood level kick starts the Homeopathic into action. One of its functions is to remove the hunger pangs normally associated with a very low 500 Cal diet The Homeopathic requires the fat to function optimally. If one skips this Gorge Phase the Homeopathic will only work sub optimally leaving one with just will power to fight off a ravenous hunger. Anyone who has been on a diet previously will know from first hand experience how impossible a battle that is to win.

The realisation of a fat Gorge as opposed to a sugar binge now becomes apparent. A high blood sugar level will slow the functioning of the Homeopathic whilst high blood fat levels will excite it.

 

Phase 2 -
The Diet
(Days 3-23)

 

1. The 500 Cal/day Diet
i) It must be born in mind that Dr Simeons pioneered the 500 Calories diet in the 1950s and as such his recommendations are the result of hundreds of observations over a great number of years.

ii) The diet used in conjunction with the Homeopathic should not exceed 500 calories per day. This is in order to create sufficient impetus to achieve a daily weight loss of around a pound/day (450g/day). If weight loss is significantly less then the final weight loss achieved may be inadequate to trigger recalibration Anything higher than a pound/day would result in a weight loss beyond the capability of the Homeopathic.

iii). Every food in the list is as a result of careful clinical evidence and no variation is permitted. The keen observer will quickly notice that there are many fruits and vegetables lower in calories than the ones permitted. Although this may be it has been found that they interfere with weight loss presumably owing to the nature of their composition. and their interaction with the Homeopathic. Pimiento peppers okra, artichokes and pears are examples of this. Another example would be if a dieter dropped an the apple in favour of an extra breadstick. Although the amount of calories has not increased there will be no weight loss. The diet is therefore not reliant on foods which have the lowest calorie count In fact those who start counting calories and come up with all manner of ingenious variations compiled from calorie tables are rarely successful in losing weight. Dr Simeons says of such that when one has spent years of weary research trying to find the most efficient diet in conjunction with a targeted Homeopathic for fat dissolution and distress abatement culinary geniuses who are out to improve the system are hard to take.

iv). Fat is disallowed because under the effect of the Homeopathic the obese body is always able to obtain all the fat calories it needs from adipose fat deposits. Similarly eggs and cheese are disallowed because of their high fat content.Including dietary fat would result in an excess of fat resulting in counterproductive fat deposition. It needs to be understood that the dieter is living to a far greater extent on the fat which he is losing than on what he eats.

v). Sugar and refined carbohydrates are disallowed too as are alcohol and aerated cordials because they all retard the action of the Homeopathic.

vi). The meat and vegetable portions should be carefully weighed on a letter scale for each meal. Estimations and approximations are disallowed. 

 2. What is a typical days diet?

Breakfast:

Tea or water in any quantity without sugar and no milk. .

Lunch:

1.    100 grams (weighed raw) of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp. Food must be boiled or grilled without additional fat.

2.    One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage.

3.    One breadstick (grissino) or one Melba toast.

4.    An apple, orange, or a handful of strawberries or one-half grapefruit.

Dinner :

The same four choices as lunch (above.)

3. Why only 21 days dieting?
Many people wonder why this Phase lasts for only 21 days. The answer to this question is twofold. Firstly it has been observed from clinical trials that 21 days is an ideal period length for reprogramming the metabolism to a reduced calorie level. A shorter period would be too short to make a significant difference resulting in the metabolism just drifting back its original higher level. A longer period would just swamp the metabolic reprogramming capability by its very magnitude resulting in the metabolism maintaining the original high calorie status quo.

Secondly any low calorie diet will be unbalanced for micronutrients. Extending the period of deprivation beyond 21 days could result in serious depletion of bodily reserves which in turn can manifest in physiological disabilities and life threatening disorders. There has been no reported nutrient deficiency for patients restricting themselves to 21 days dieting.

If a greater adipose fat (weight) loss is required then simply repeat the four Phases a second or even a third time as required. Following this protocol will ensure that the metabolism is properly reprogrammed and that the loss is permanent.

 

4. What purpose does the Homeopathic serve?
Explanation has already been provided of the unique role of the Homeoapthic in the 3F Protocol with regards to its adipose fat targeting and dietary distress elimination roles.(See section on So where does 3F Fat Free Forever fit in?)

With a conventional diet there is seldom any weight loss on the first few days of struggle.  This is because the metabolic response to calorie restriction is to compensate itself and slow down too. When weight loss eventually does occur it is derived from water and muscle rather than undesirable adipose tissue which stubbornly remains clinging to those problem areas. It is at this point that the Homeopathic lends a helping hand by specifically targeting those unwanted areas of fatty deposits. The Homeopathic effectively liquefies adipose fat releasing it as energy which is available for metabolic use. A further limitation of most conventional diets is that they result in intense hunger pangs which are the cause of many failures to achieve weight loss. In the case of "3F" the relaxed neurology associated with appetite and craving influences the brain to emit signals of satiety rather than starvation.

It is also worth pointing out that any attempt to observe this diet without the Homeopathic will lead to trouble in two to three days. Dont believe those dieters who claim to have followed the 500 Calorie Protocol without the Homeopathic. There have been instances where dieters have proudly flaunted their dieting powers in front of their friends without mentioning the fact that they took the Homeopathic. When their friends tried to follow suit and duly failed without the Homeopathic the dieter merely raked in unmerited kudos for their superhuman willpower

Phase 3 -
Maintenance
(Days 24-44)

This Phase is the most important of the whole Protocol even more so than Phase 2. You're understandably tired of diet restriction and want to get back to normal life as quickly as possible. At the same time youll not want to pack the weight back on again as is the case with most conventional dietary programmes. The art is to Maintain an energy balance between energy in and energy out.

So in this Phase the severe calorie restriction of Phase 2 is lifted with no limit placed on the quantity of food consumed save that it must not exceed the point at which weight gain recommences. Food quality (ie the food items) is however restricted to that of Phase 2. Thus once the 21 pounds or so has been lost Phase 3 kicks in to ensure that the Protocol fulfills its promise of

To achieve this objective it is necessary to recalibrate the metabolism at the new lower maintenance requirement level. This is achieved by eating the same food selection as previous but in larger quantities so that the daily weight scale check shows the same weight as that achieved on at the final day of Phase 2. The dieter will be eating considerably greater quantities of food during this Phase not only to stop daily weight loss but also to compensate for the effect of the withdrawal of the Homeopathic in preparation for Normalisation.

The target for Phase 3 is to stay within 2 pounds of the final days Phase 2 weight. If this target is achieved over a period of 3 weeks then the metabolism would have successfully recalibrated itself to the new lower requirement level. 

  

In the Case of Weight Gain

Any weight gain above the limit must be quickly dissipated with a Fruit and Flesh day in which only100g of fruit and permitted protein is consumed at lunch and dinner respectively.

 

Dr Peter's Tip

If you found difficulty in achieving the maintenance target dont despair. Here are two notes from my own personal experience

i) If you feel a longer time is required to establish maintenance then take the extra days required. I found this Phase took me more like 6 weeks. The important thing is that there needs to be a solid 2 weeks of constant weight before one can be sure of a successful recalibration. 

ii) I also found that my difficulties were far less if I continued with a low level of 3F Homeopahtic. In the end I settled on twice daily AM & PM doses of "3F" throughout Phases 3 & 4. Feel free to experiment. You may have your own method of achieving Maintenance balance. We are all individuals; not automatons. Remember that this is the most important stage from a view point of permanency.

To achieve "3F" Fat Free Forever status one must maintain a balanced liveweight for 2 full weeks in order to establish recalibration.                               

     Phase 4 -
Normalisation
(Days 45-65)

Well done. Congratulations. Youve finished with the Maintenance Phase 3 stage. Now is the time to establish the healthy eating style you intend to pursue forever. For the first time the Protocol allows fats and, starches and carbohydrates. A word of caution. Be sure to do this slowly. You have the opportunity for a new lease of life. Dont squander the chance. Enjoy some of the previously forbidden foods but in moderation.

Continue to monitor your weight by means of the daily scale weighing and fi a gain is detected scale back somewhat on the rate at which starch and carbohydrates .are being introduced into the diet.

Dr Peter's Tip

Here's another personal tip from my own personal experience. You may notice that you do not relish all the starches and carbohydrates you previously enjoyed. In my case I took a dislike to potatoes a previously indispensible food item; something which had to accompany every meal. This in turn led me down the road of eating rice and pasta as alternatives which in turn led me on to a semi gluten free diet. As a result I feel much better, fitter, with more vitality and less fatigue than ever before. So be aware that your metabolism may respond differently to what it was in days of yore.

Finally make sure that you take enough exercise. Now that youre on a full unrestricted diet is the diet to reestablish your work out routine.

If perchance you havent reached your desired weight level then just do another round of 4 Phases of the Protocol. Make sure first that you go right through to day 65 of this programme. It is important to establish your unrestricted eating pattern first before restarting another round. This process is necessary to copper fasten your new recalibration level. If recalibration is not fully established the next round of Protocol will end in disappointment. That would be disastrous after all the hard work put in.

just to reassure yourself that all is well
If you have gained over 2 pounds weight
then simply institute a Fruit and Flesh day
and you will quickly revert to where you should be.

Finally dont omit to recommence exercising.
