Ever wonder why McDonalds color scheme is yellow and red? We are naturally drawn to red, yellow and orange in our dining area or restaurants because psychologically it stimulates us to want to eat -- and eat a lot. Studies show if you put your food on blue plates it can cause you to eat less, says Tamal Dodge, a certified yoga instructor in Santa Monica, Calif. and star of the Element: Hatha & Flow Yoga for Beginners DVD.

Did you also know that using a larger fork can do the same? A recent study by researchers at the University of Utah found that participants eating with a larger fork - one that held 20 percent more food -- at an Italian restaurant ate about 10 percent less than those who used a regular fork. So next time youre order a super-sized entree, ask for a bigger fork to help you eat less. And while youre at it get them to put it on a blue plate.

I just followed the 3F Protocol Dr Peter continued and the weight fell off without experiencing diet stress or other symptoms. I lost the target 21 lbs in 21 days and dropped 10% in fatty adipose tissue. There were a few hiccups along the way which I outline below. I found the Maintenance Phase 3 the hardest and I took longer than the recommended 21 days to fully satisfy myself that a Maintenance balance had been established. That apart the whole programme went as smooth as clockwork. Today I feel fit and energised and find no difficulty in keeping to my recalibrated Phase 4 Normalisation weight.

Phase 1
The Gorge
Days 1-2

Weighed in at 12 st 9 lbs (80.50 Kg) and
fat 30%

Two great Irish breakfasts preceded by cereals and porridge. Toast & coffee to round off

Lunch was a light affair. I was just too full. Soup and brown soda bread with coffee.

Dinner was at a restaurant. Fish starter, steak & chips for mains with fresh fruit salad and coffee to alad to finish. Oh yes, a bottle of wine as well of course.

At the end of day 2 I had a gout attack. Quite vicious. Took some Homeopathic pills which sorted it out.

Phase 2
The Diet
Days 3-23

Contrary to all expectations I felt no diet stress at all (other than the gout which abated after 2 days thanks to the Homeo). The surfeit from The Gorge had a carry over effect of fullness for a day or two and then the 3F Homeopathic kicked in and did the rest.

Initially portion size was determined by scale weighments but after a few days I got the hang of things and used visual determination. With such a limited raw material selection it was a relatively easy learning process.

I was thrilled with the weight loss each day and looked forward with expectation to my morning weghments. How different to those conventional diet weighs ins when one dreaded to go up on the scale for fear of weight gain.

You will see from my Performance Log (at the end of this report) that I too gained weight some days. The advantage of daily weighment however now becomes apparent because a flesh & fruit day can be immediately implemented which invariable put me back on track.

I sailed into Phase 3 thinking the whole thing was a piece of cake. I had lost 21 lbs in 21 days and 6% fat. It would be down hill all the way from now on. What a rude awakening I got.

I found it difficult to increase food intake and at the same time maintain liveweight. I ate either too much (gain in weight) or too little (loss of weight). Eventually I achieved a balance some 3 lbs above my end Phase 2 weight. I also required the help of the 3F Homeopathic (2 doses/day) and an extra 22 days = 43 days total to complete the Phase.  What pleased me however was that I continued to lose adipose fat even though my weight rose. A look at my Performance Log reveals the full picture.

Feel free to experiment. You may have your own method of achieving Maintenance balance. We are all individuals; not automatons. Remember that this is the most important stage from a view point of permanency.

To achieve "3F" Fat Free Forever status one must maintain a balanced liveweight for 2 full weeks in order to establish recalibration

Days 45-65

Normalisation proceeded to plan though in some ways results were the reverse of Phase 3 in that I lost weight but maintained adipose tissue.  Once again I I required longer (10 days) to achieve the necessary 2 week balance for normalisation.

As stated previously during this phase I discovered I had a dislike to potatoes a previously indispensible food item; something which had to accompany every meal. This in turn led me down the road of eating rice and pasta as alternatives which in turn took me on to a semi gluten free diet. As a result I feel much better, fitter, with more vitality and less fatigue than ever before.
